Costa Rica Trip Leader
Regan Barnes
Regan Barnes was born and raised in New Jersey, where she spent as much time as possible along the Jersey Shore and developed a lifelong love for the ocean. Whether surfing, swimming, sailing, paddle boarding, or exploring new coastal environments, her connection to the water led to a passion for marine education and outreach.
Regan earned her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy, from the University of South Florida. As a certified scuba diver, she brings field experience and a deep appreciation for the underwater ecosystems she studies and teaches about.
She has taught marine biology to high school students through summer programs in Miami and Vancouver, where she designed engaging, hands-on curriculum and led immersive field excursions. Known for her enthusiasm, energy, and dedication, Regan strives to make marine science both meaningful and memorable for her students.
Regan is so excited to be a member of the Sea Turtle Camp team and looks forward to leading students in Costa Rica as they explore marine ecosystems and develop an in-depth understanding of sea turtles and conservation.
