Marine Educator/Camp Counselor

Gabby Albright

Gabby was born in Germany and grew up in Maryland right near the Chesapeake Bay. She grew passionate about wildlife from a young age, always wanting to be outside to explore new places and animals. She goes to Roanoke College to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish, where she will graduate spring of 2027.

She is currently working on a life-history research project of a local darter fish species in her area and has completed a lot of marine field studies such as collecting macro-invertebrates from rivers in order to determine how polluted the waterways are. She is also the fundraising co-head of Alpha Kappa Chi, an environmental service organization which carries out community service projects and raises money for local charities.

Outside of school Gabby loves to go hiking, raft and kayak, play rugby, travel, go skiing, and anything else she gets the opportunity to try out. She is spending her next semester of college going to Botswana to do wildlife and conservation research in the field as part of Round River conservation studies program. This is her first summer at STC, so she is excited to be a part of a team of people who love the environment and to teach others about how cool it can be!
