Share Your Marine Science Passion This Summer at the Beach!

Do you have a passion for marine science? Do you want to share that passion with others? Do you want to spend your summer oceanfront and working with sea turtles? Maybe learn how to surf? This is not a drill, this is actually how you could spend your summer with us at Sea Turtle Camp!

Sea Turtle Camp was founded to offer youth the opportunity to learn about marine science through immersive, hands-on, feet-wet experiential education. Our mission is to cultivate a love and respect for the ocean by building confidence and developing character, while inspiring coastal conservation through safety, fun, and learning. We aim to immerse youth in the field of marine science and want to empower them to be proactive environmental stewards. Insert you, a future Sea Turtle Camp counselor, guiding teens through fun hands-on activities, to the sea turtle hospital and aquarium, on kayak/SUP tour of the salt marsh, catching waves in the ocean, and even leading the macarena during a dance party.

We are looking for team players with positive, can-do attitudes that are ready to have some fun and help create the next generation of marine biologists. Housing and meals are provided for the duration of your two month position at our ocean-view facility in Topsail Island, NC.

Sea Turtle Camp is seeking an ocean steward, whether that means you love to scuba dive, surf, kayak, study ecology, explore the salt marsh, whale watch, or even go shell hunting.
Not only will you help develop focused, responsible, and inspired campers, but you will also gain invaluable experience working in the field, teaching hands-on lesson plans, and working with a variety of children.

Other amazing Sea Turtle Camp counselor qualifications and qualities:

  • Degree in or currently studying marine biology, environmental science, education, or another related field
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain focused during long days and weeks
  • Familiarity with local marine ecosystems and species
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Upbeat, friendly personality towards campers and coworkers

Positions offered: Camp Counselor, Marine Educator, Unit Leader, and Scuba Unit Leader.
