As a Program Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating our flagship Marine Biology Adventure and Immersion programs, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for our campers.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Passion for Marine Science: A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Parks & Rec, or Business Management.
  • Proven Camp Management Experience: Approximately 3 years working in a camp management position or equivalent experience, demonstrating leadership and effective team management skills.
  • Commitment to Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills, fiscal management expertise, organizational abilities, and problem-solving strategies.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Professional phone manners and outstanding customer service skills are a must.
  • Team Player with Initiative: Ability to take initiative on program improvements during the off-season and work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Outdoor Enthusiast: Comfortable with a demanding summer schedule, including outdoor activities, and the ability to lift and carry items up to thirty-five pounds during the heat of the summer.
  • Certifications: Current certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguard.

Desired Skills & Traits:

  • Advanced Credentials: Master’s degree in marine biology, environmental science, education, or a related field.
  • SCUBA Certification: A plus for those with a passion for underwater exploration.
  • Wilderness First Aid Certification: Demonstrates preparedness for various scenarios.
  • Marine Wildlife Experience: Previous work with marine reptiles, mammals, or other aquatic animals.
  • Ecosystem Familiarity: Knowledge of southeastern marine ecosystems and organisms.
  • Educational Background: Environmental education certification or teaching credential.
  • Tech-Savvy: Competence in Campsite Management Software and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities & Duties:

As a Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating all logistics for our NC residential Sea Turtle Camp programs, from lodging and transportation to meals and activities. Your role involves hiring, training, and managing seasonal staff, facilitating check-in and check-out meetings, and ensuring ongoing support for the entire team. Additionally, you will play a crucial part in preparing for the next season during the off-season, contributing to marketing efforts, new program development, and maintaining positive relationships with partners.
