Immerse yourself in marine bio with an amazing summer experience!

This summer, the waters of North Carolina invite young divers to earn advanced SCUBA certifications and deepen their appreciation for undersea life with our unique program. Together with other teens, campers sharpen SCUBA skills while immersing in marine biology, exploring some amazing shipwrecks along the way.

It’s about gaining valuable new SCUBA knowledge.

Tailored to divers from ninth graders to recent high school graduates, the PADI Rescue Diver course offers teens with Advanced Open Water SCUBA certifications the opportunity to move on to the next level of diving, with a focus on safety. While the environment is relaxed and fun for all, there are serious lessons that teach participants how to handle distressed divers (including self-rescue), administer first aid, use emergency equipment, and manage crises that SCUBA divers may face. The instruction pays off with the possibility to qualify in first aid, CPR, and emergency oxygen providing while earning the advanced PADI Rescue Diver certification.

But it’s also about discovering the marvels of marine life.

Migratory whales, barracudas, loggerhead and green sea turtles, a rainbow variety of fish and so much more — they’re all just beyond North Carolina’s sandy shores. It’s a perfect place for aspiring marine biologists and those with curious minds to learn about marine ecosystems and ocean conservation in a hands-on setting. And the lessons extend to land with a trip to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, where campers can get up close to turtle nests and learn about the importance of protecting these endangered species.

With meals covered from start to finish, and transportation to and from Wilmington International Airport, all teens need to do is to be open to the wonders that await and the bonds they’ll form with other campers that could last a lifetime.
