SCUBA Marine Educator
Kamryn Denney
Raised in Columbus, Indiana, Kam developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors from an early age, attending summer camps that inspired a lifelong connection to nature. This passion guided Kam to pursue a degree in Outdoor Recreation at Indiana University Bloomington, where she focuses on Wilderness Rescue and Outdoor Education. Alongside her major, she is earning a certificate in Underwater Resource Management and a minor in Spanish.
For the past six summers, Kam has worked as a camp counselor and trip guide, sharing her love for adventure with young people. She currently serves as a trip guide, class instructor, and wilderness first responder assistant instructor with Indiana University’s outdoor program. Inspired by her mother’s history as a scuba guide and a conservationist, Kam fell in love with diving and now uses this passion to promote environmental conservation. When not leading trips, Kam enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, traveling, canoeing, snowboarding, caving, and scuba diving. Above all, she is dedicated to bringing people, especially children, closer to nature through outdoor adventures that build connection, confidence, and stewardship.
